A new massive-scale multiplayer combat game, called MetalCore, has been announced this week by former Activision developers. The game is set in the year 2269 where civil war has broken out across the Solar Empire. Players will be able to pick a faction to fight against other enemy factions on an open-world alien planet where they will be able to control war machines, recruit pilots, own lands and more. These, of course, will be NFT-based to give the player true ownership. The game will also feature a 50 vs 50 game mode, but no more information has been revealed yet about how it’s going to play out. You can watch the first look trailer of MetalCore below this article to get an impression of its world and war machines.
The game is being developed by MetalCore Foundation and Studio 369. The team behind the game consists of members who have worked for notable companies such as Activision, Disney, Lucas Films and Midway. On top of that, their names are also tied to games including Mortal Kombat and Gears of War.
MetalCore Foundation aims for an early access release in Q3 2022 while the public sale of the first NFTs will commence in January 2022 consisting of 10,000 war machines. The second and the third NFT sale will be of pilots and lands planned for Q2 2022. To learn more, head over to MetalCore’s official website.
